Snow Ice Cream

If you haven't tried this, you should!

At first I was completely grossed out, who knows what is our polluted air that comes down with the snow, but my husband convinced me... he grew up making this every year.

Snow Ice Cream

1 gallon of snow
1 cup white sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla
2 cups of milk
When new snow is falling, put a big bowl outside to catch it. When you have enough, add your ingredients, stirring in enough milk to make it the right consistency. Pass out spoons and eat right away! Your kids will love you. :)

BTW, these aren't even my kids, I found them on the Internet (I have yet to upload any snow pics)... but you can imagine that mine look pretty much the same, bundled up like the Stay Puffed Marshmallow man on Ghost Busters, whining that they are too hot / too cold / want to come in after you spent a half hour getting their thumb in the thumb hole of their mitten. Ah, the snow days, wet snow suits dripping and sleigh bells ringing! :)

Snow? What's snow? LOL! The ice cream sounds like fun. When we visit the snow, we put juice or soda in it.

I was wondering whose kids those were. They didn't look like yours. :-)

About a post farther down the page... we're contemplating making major changes to Christmas celebrations around here. It's starting to feel like extortion, especially from extended family. My kids aren't so bad--they get one small gift each from the family plus one from St. Nicholas. I didn't know Jesus was born during Sukkot--where did you find this interesting fact?

I'm pretty sure that the process of evaporating and freezing purifies snow. And you can't convince me otherwise. We haven't done snow ice cream yet, we'll have to try it now. if it snows again. Hopefully it won't.
