Homemade Instant Oatmeal

Sometimes for reasons of illness, pregnancy, a hurried morning or other, it's nice to have breakfasts that children can help themselves to. That doesn't always have to be cold cereal either. I like to make extra pancakes, waffles and french toast to put in the toaster when need be. I'll stick to my old tricks, but here's yet another tool for our mommy tool belts:

Instant Oatmeal

In a large bowl combine:
1-18 oz. container of quick cooking oats
1 envelope (3.2 oz.) nonfat dry milk
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup raisins

Transfer to an airtight container.

To use:
Scoop 1/2 cup oatmeal mix in a bowl and add 1/2 cup of water, microwave 1 minute.

Makes 16, 25 cent servings
